David + Erin // Washington, DC Wedding

David and Erin were married at the Josephine Butler Parks Center in December - my final wedding of 2016. The day was absolutely brimming with love, generosity, and happiness, and it was a much appreciated end to the season. I'm so grateful to have been a part of this day!

M + M Family // Washington, DC Family Session

Earlier this year, I was honored and excited when the sister of one of my 2016 couples asked if we could fit in a family session while she was in town for the big event. Just a few days before her sister got married (more on that soon!), I headed to Great Falls park to capture this charismatic family of five. It was a treat to spend one-on-one time with them during such a celebratory time.

Cole + Mika // Washington, DC Engagement

Somehow Cole and Mika picked one of the coolest days of the summer for their engagement session in Great Falls Park. I had a great time chatting with them and meeting their adorable pup, Daisy. But the best part was seeing how much these two truly love being around one another—I can't wait for their wedding in October.

Adam + Emma // Washington, DC Wedding

Where to begin? From an insanely sweet first look to a perfect photobomb at the Dupont Circle fountain to a beautifully heartfelt ceremony to a bbq food truck, Adam and Emma's DC wedding in early May was non-stop fun. Just one of those days you feel lucky to tag along...especially to so many truly great DC spots like Hotel Palomar and Toolbox Pilates Art Studio, where the ceremony and reception took place. Adam and Emma also somehow dodged days on end of rain and were treated to amazing weather from start to finish. But nothing could have put a damper on these two, anyway—there was so much love and warmth throughout the whole experience.

AVA Design // Washington, DC Portrait Session

One of my favorite aspects about what I do is the opportunity to collaborate with other artists. I've worked with the ever inspiring Alice Ashe—the force behind AVA Design—on a number of projects (including my own logo), and her creativity and vision are always pitch perfect. So I was really excited when she asked if I would work with her on some images for her website refresh. The afternoon in and around Alice's beautiful home in 16th Street Heights flew by as I got lost in the details of her eclectic workspace. A cameo by her adorable son didn't hurt, either. :)

Chris + Natalie // Annapolis Wedding

Chris and Natalie chose the quaint Annapolis Maritime Museum for their wedding and tied the nautical theme into many elements of their celebration. It was wonderful to be by the water all day long, and we had the best of both worlds: Swirling clouds provided a gorgeous backdrop for their first look, but as the ceremony crept closer, the sky began to show bits of blue before clearing up just in time for sunset. I can't think of a better spot for Chris and Natalie to have been surrounded by loved ones on such an important day.

Melissa + Josh // Chicago Wedding

Summer in Chicago really can't be beat, and this wedding only made that fact all the more clear. Melissa and Josh were married on a warm August day at the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Chicago, followed by a beautiful reception at Salvage One (one of my most favorite venues ever!). In between the ceremony and the reception, they had an ice cream truck waiting for their guests—need I say more?

Betsy + Sev // Virginia Engagement

These two are getting married in October and I couldn't be more excited for their wedding. On Saturday, we decided to take advantage of this month's freakishly warm weather (no complaints) to explore Huntley Meadows Park with their sweet - and very tolerant - pups in tow.

Danielle + John // Charlottesville Wedding

You can't ask for a better backdrop than Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards or a kinder couple than Danielle and John. Surrounded by family, loved ones, and Charlottesville's Blue Ridge, these two were all smiles all day long. A rainy morning didn't bother them one bit—they were just happy to be together, and the love and affection between them made the day truly joyful. After a sweet and heartfelt ceremony, everyone reveled in an epic celebration with personal touches scattered throughout. It was such a treat to witness this day—congrats, Danielle and John!

Vicentes // Maryland Family Session

I can't say enough good things about this sweet family—their sense of humor can't be beat. I've been lucky enough to work with them for several years now, and it just gets more fun as time goes on.

Danielle + John // Annapolis Engagement

The first time I met Danielle and John, I could instantly tell how warm and welcoming they are. When I met up with them again for their engagement session, they suggested that we first take some time to catch up over an orange crush (or two) by the Annapolis waterfront. It was so much fun to hear about what they've been up to since I saw them last. Spending time with them made me that much more excited for their Charlottesville wedding in November!

O'Briens // Maryland Family Session

The O'Briens are a special family with a true passion for fun and adventure. I've had the pleasure of photographing them since their oldest child turned one. Four years later, their youngest just hit that milestone himself! We met up on a beautiful August morning for a great family session at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland.
